Navy Captain Daniel Dusek Pleads Guilty in Scandal

A U.S. NAVY commander has been convicted in a corruption scandal of epic proportions  involving a Maylaysian defense contractor .

Captain Daniel Dusek entered a guilty plea on Thursday for disclosing military secrets in exchange for prostitutes, cash and trips to Hawaii and other Pacific destinations.

CAPT Daniel Dusek is a native of Waldport, Oregon. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington in 1989 and was commissioned as an Ensign through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps.

His initial sea tour was in USS LEWIS B PULLER (FFG 23)  In 1993 CAPT Dusek  was assigned to USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). In 2002 CAPT Dusek reported to USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61)  as Executive officer.

CAPT Dusek also served as the COMSEVENTH Fleet Deputy Operations Officer embarked on USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) from January 2009 through February 2011, where he was responsible for all aspects of Fleet Operations in the C7F AOR).

Dusek first reported to the USS BONHOMME RICHARD’s (LHD 6) predecessor, USS ESSEX, as Executive officer May 2011 and assumed command June 2012, shortly after BONHOMME RICHARD  arrived in Sasebo in a hull-swap.

CAPT Dusek was relieved of his duties aboard  BONHOMME RICHARD October 2013.
