How sorry is America?

Egypt’s military regime accepts U.S. military funding while ignoring John Kerry’s human rights chatter.

BY KYLE ANDREW BROWN

WASHINGTON, July 3 – On Sunday Secretary of State John Kerry was in Cairo to deliver his gift package of more than a billion dollars of military aid. Maybe 1.3 billion. Maybe 1.6.

That’s good news for the defense industry. It’s all portrayed as America helping Egypt fight those terrorists. As a parting gift the Secretary left behind eight F-16s.

In the old days when Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice ran the State Department they woulda passed out the F-16s to our good friends in Egypt.

But Egypt isn’t really a friend of the Obama Administration. Neither is Iraq. A bunch of former friends are folding to the terrorists.

Emir Sheikh Tamim’s Qatar is sorta a friend cause they’re building those FIFA soccer pitches in the dessert – LOL – with slave labor from Asia – OMG.

Are the Saudis still friends?

With no Bush in the White House these days there’s been none of that silly man cheek kissing and hand holding up in the Camp David woods.

In any case, America’s Middle East allies see those 50 billion dollars Teheran is gonna get.

Arabs are asking: Is all that cash going to go for fancy cars and clothes and steel door LG refrigerators?

Or are there Persian set asides for hidden underground nuclear bomb factories?

Two or three generations have grown up since the sanctions kicked off and the Red Guard said enough of CIA and Shah running the country.

Now they got Ayatollah to run everything.

The popular spin once went around was Iran wants to get rid of Israel. And nukes is the way to go about it

Did the job once for America.

But that thinking is so 20th century.

Since then millions of Iranians been killed.

Not by Israel.

It was those Iraqis from the other kind of Islam did the killing.

Go figure.

Kerry reassures Middle East Iran Nuclear Arms Security

Now take a moment to see how today’s Cairo newspapers have air brushed John Kerry off their websites by lunch time.

What with the Gift Bags and F-16s Kerry came to town with woulda thought the Secretary had earned more digital real estate in the Arab media.

Then again, there was morning coverage of the John Kerry Apology.

John Kerry Apology: John Kerry he says America is very very sorry about supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. They’re the crew that tossed out Hosni Mubarak and stuck him in that big court room cage.

John is saying America did not know that the guys that did the over throwing were all terrorists.

No direct quotes here from John.

Anyway, Yourm 7,  the leading Cairo paper went to WAFD party headquarters to have the John Kerry Apology explained.

WAFD Secretary General – that’s head guy  Dr. Baha Abu – he explains:

“John Kerry recognizes there were a lot of Muslim Brotherhood leaders with terrorist ideas. They engaged in acts of violence and terror in Egypt.”

“Kerry confirms that Egypt was right in the Revolution of June 30” [the military coup that deposed the one year government of Mohamed Morsi].

“America realizes that Egypt was right and June 30 was is in fact the revolution – the popular will,” the head guys explains for John Kerry.

“Kerry states that America has become aware that the will of the Egyptians and the determination of Egyptians is invincible.”

“And that the Egyptian armed forces are Egypt’s Shield.”

“John Kerry in his meeting with our Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said he recognizes the Muslim Brotherhood’s terrorism. But the recognition came too late. Now finally they know Egypt was right.”

Nothing in Yourm 7 about Secretary Kerry’s remarks about Egyptian Human Rights Today.

Egyptians nowadays want to read about Gift Bags with F-16s in them. Human rights is so yesterday in the Arab world.

The Secretary was probably speaking for the benefit of  New York Times readers when he got to Human Rights.
