Gazeta.ru says Greece financial woes contributes to EU collapse

The threat of default may force Athens to abandon the Euro, reports Gazeta.ru. Twenty percent unemployment  is a  most acute problem.

Gazeta.ru suggests a Greek exit from the EU “would be a blow to the position of the European currency and impetus for its depreciation.”

At the moment Europe and ordinary Greeks will do everything possible to ensure that the country remains in the EU.  However, there are few remaining options for Greece’s financial system.
“Exit of the southern European country can destroy the existing view of irreversibility of accession to the euro area,” the newspaper quotes FORBES. The high level of debt relative to GDP in Italy (132.6%), Portugal (129%), France (92.2%) and Spain (92.1%).
