Greece Asks For Justice And Equality

Athens, June 2 – “The Greek government is negotiating a plan and strategy and has submitted concrete proposals,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said today during his visit t Save & Exit o the Ministry of Education.  And added that “the dilemma is with the leadership of Europe”.

“We are negotiating a plan and strategy in harsh conditions. The Greek people know the difference between a government that negotiates as in the past by merely signing what is brought to them.”

“Greeks should be proud, regardless of the political party they belong to,” said the prime minister.

At the same time, Mr. Tsipras said: “Greece has tabled proposals in which we have made ​​concessions that are normal in a negotiation. But we have submitted a realistic plan to bring the country out of the crisis.”

According to sources, the text submitted by the Greek government to the creditor Institutions is about 50 pages. It encompasses all the converging and diverging points between Greece and the creditors meetings of the Brussels Group.

The same sources report the Greek proposal conveyed to the Institutions, the President of the Council for Economic Experts, George Chouliarakis, following a decision taken at last night’s meeting at the Maximos Mansion, and  expects a response within a day.

In fact, government sources stressed that the proposals of the Greek government move in line with those the Prime Minister published in Le Monde.  Which affirmed the Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis. While making clear there is no «take it or leave it» in the negotiations.

Finance Minister Varoufakis reportedly said that the issues under negotiation were presented by the Greek side’s own proposal and the Institutions are expected to present their own proposals.

According to a senior government source, the Greek side asks for a discussion on the Greek text be sent to the Institutions. With proposals as written to move within the framework of the discussions that have already taken place.

However, the Prime Minister admitted in his statements at the Ministry of Education that:  “The next day of negotiations will have it’s difficulties.”

He asked the Greek people and the government to “Overcome the difficulties of conditions with justice and equality.”

According to the Prime Minister: “The conclusion of the negotiations will mark the end of the divisions within Europe.

“It is now clear that the decision about whether they wish to adapt to the realism of the circumstances in Greece and  to exit from the crisis without divisions within Europe – that decision belongs to the leadership of Europe.”

“This is not only a Greek problem – it is a European and global issue.”

“The dilemma is between a realistic exit option, or the further division of Europe.”

“The government is moving to plan ahead with d determination and to move forward on behalf of the vast majority of the Greek people. Who desire a solution and do not want the country to return to the yesterday of memoranda and servitude ” said Mr. Tsipras.

In closing, the prime minister said he is optimistic and that the political leadership of Europe will approach with respect to our positions and we will do our part for the future of a united Europe.

The Prime Minister also said that the Ministry of Education along with Health will determine whether the government has achieved or failed to achieve its goals at the end of four years. He asked the leadership of the Ministry of Education, to meet on a monthly basis to take stock.

The Prime Minister said: One of the issues facing the government is how to invest in the human capital of the country and to limit the migration of scientific expertise.

He added: “An important goal is to create the conditions for young people to stay and participate in the country. The Education, polismos and research are the areas that will judge the government’s ability to make decisions. There we came to not reproduce models of the past but to subvert vested. “

Mr. Tsipras stressed in his statements: “We have submitted extremely realistic proposals in order to avoid past mistakes. I think we are very close to an agreement that will give Greece a chance to recover – but in a more fair way.”

“The last five years of recession have been devastating for the low and middle layers of our society.”
